There are many organizations in the community that help those in need, and many ways you can contribute to these efforts!
This flyer lists resources and suggestions to offer assistance for those in need in the community. Included in this list are local organizations that can help extremely low income and homeless individuals and families and would gladly accept donations of time, goods, or money.
Community Resources Distribution Card
The City has a listing of resources available in the community to those in need to services, with addresses and phone numbers for local service organizations and information on the shelter resource center. A full page of these cards, which can be printed and cut for easy distribution, is available below:
Social Services Commission - Non Event Fundraiser
With ongoing cuts to federal grant programs that support local non-profit service organizations, the Social Services Commission had the idea of holding a non-event fundraiser to augment these grant funds and ensure ongoing local services for individuals and families in need. Because it does not have an event date, it is ongoing, and you don’t even have to go anywhere! Funds collected through this fundraiser will be awarded to local non-profits who apply for public service funding under the city’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program.
