The Davis Police Department uses Facebook to promote Department news and events on a regular basis. The Police Department Facebook page will also publish press releases, notifications, announcements, tips and information related to crime prevention, requests that ask the community to engage in projects that are relevant to the Department mission, recruitment of personnel and other related topics. Yolo County has implemented a state-of-the-art emergency notification system to alert residents about emergencies and other important community news such as severe weather, evacuations of buildings or neighborhoods and other public health and safety alerts.
