SENIOR CENTER PATIO “LEGACY” IMPROVEMENT PROJECT 

In October 2016, the City contracted with HMR, a firm specializing in engineering, architectural, environmental and construction services, to provide conceptual designs for a proposed patio and outdoor expansion project at the Davis Senior Center.

The project will construct a new fenced patio at the south end of the Senior Center with access directly from the multipurpose rooms. This improvement will allow for outdoor fitness programming such as tai chi, activities such as book club and a variety of day and evening events and the space, in conjunction with the multipurpose rooms, will be available to rent. A thank you to the Senior Citizens of Davis, Inc. group who helped fund part of this project.

The project was first advertised for bids in Spring 2024 and the project was recently awarded to CNW Construction, Inc. Construction. 

Timeline for planning & construction (subject to change): 
• June 2024-November 2024: Project under construction 
• Spring 2024: Bid advertisement and project award (Completed)
• November 7, 2017: Presentation to the Davis City Council for final project consideration (Completed)
• May 18, 2017: Design Concepts presented to Recreation and Park Commission (Completed)
• April 2017:  Final Community Design Charrette (Completed)
• March 2017: 2nd Community Design Charrette (Completed)
• February 2017: 1st Community Design Charrette (Completed)
