June 18, 2025 Update - 

The City and Grindline Skateparks are holding a second community outreach event to share its preliminary design concept on July 8th at 5:30 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room at Veterans Memorial Center, 203 E. 14th Street.

May 8, 2025 Update - 

The City hosted the first site walk and community outreach event with Grindline Skateparks. The consultant will incorporate all feedback into a preliminary design for use in a future outreach meeting, tentatively set for July 2025.

April 17, 2025 Update - 

Mark your calendar for the first community outreach meeting with Grindline Skateparks! The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at 5:30 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Center Game Room. 

Grindline and the City are working on social media, flyers, advertising and survey outreach items.

April 3, 2025 Update - 

The project was awarded to Grindline Skateparks at the April 1, 2025 City Council meeting. The kickoff meeting is scheduled for April 9, 2025.

March 14, 2025 Update - 

The project is now anticipated to go to City Council for award on April 1, 2025.

February 27, 2025 Update -

Staff selected Grindline Skateparks as the design-build contractor and are preparing the contract. The project is anticipated to go to City Council for award on March 18, 2025.

February 13, 2025 Update - 

The three pre-qualified firms submitted design-build proposals and staff are reviewing them. The project is anticipated to go to City Council for award in March.

January 3, 2025 Update - 

The request for proposal (RFP) was posted on December 20, 2024 and the submittal deadline is February 7, 2025. The RFP is only open to the three pre-qualified firms.

December 4, 2024 Update - 

The request for proposal is being finalized by legal and should be released to the three pre-qualified firms in mid-December.

August 1, 2024 Update - 

This project will be bid as design-build and the pre-qualification is complete. A request for proposals is anticipated to be sent out to all pre-qualified firms in the fall.

 June 6, 2024 Update - 

Staff anticipate sending a request for proposal in the fall to the three pre-qualified firms.

 The City is preparing to go out to bid for a design-build contract for the revitalization of the skate park. Preliminary outreach established the community’s interests and vision for the renovation; the chosen design-build firm will conduct appropriate additional outreach.
