The Parks and Community Services Department mission is to create and enhance the quality of life for Davis residents and its visitors by providing a diverse array of programs, services and recreational facilities.   The department consists of three divisions: Community Services, Aquatics and Parks & Urban Forestry.

A variety of recreational opportunities are provided for residents of all ages, including aquatics, alternative recreation for persons with disAbilities, gymnastics and dance programs, outdoor education, specialty camps, special interest classes, teen services, senior services, youth and adult sports, para-transit, community rental facilities, athletic fields, parks, picnic areas and management of our urban forest. We are also proud to be responsible for the oversight and maintenance of over 485 acres of parks, greenbelts and an abundance of street trees.

Inclement Weather: Field Conditions & Toad Hollow Dog Park

Please sign up for the Inclement Weather Field Conditions and the Toad Hollow Dog Park e-Notification to receive up-to-date information regarding the status of fields and  park. e-Notifications are sent out when fields and parks are CLOSED due to wet conditions and/or the forecast of inclement conditions. 

1/17/2020: All sport fields are to remain CLOSED today due to standing water and ground saturation.   Athletic Fields will remain CLOSED throughout the weekend and will be re-evaluated Tuesday 1/21/2020, an email will be sent out updating you of the status. Please help us keep our park amenities in good working order, and to keep our residents and visitors safe!

1/17/2020: Toad Hollow Dog Park will remain CLOSED today due to excessive water in the park.  The primary function of Toad Hollow is a retention basin for storm water during rain events.  The dog park will be CLOSED throughout the weekend and will be re-evaluated on Tuesday, 1/21/2020, we will send out an email update after a site evaluation is completed.  Thank you for your understanding!.
