"Utility Rebate Program" Scam Alert

The City of Davis has been alerted to a new scam in which the scammers use a City of Davis caller ID when calling residents about a “utility rebate program.” Residents should disregard these calls, as the City of Davis will not be contacting citizens by email, in person, or over the phone for utility rebates. Anyone with questions or concerns about their utility bill may contact City finance staff at financeweb@cityofdavis.org.

For more information about this and other types of scams or to report suspected scams to the Yolo County DA’s Office, call the fraud hotline at 855-4-YOLO-DA or visit yoloda.org.

To Prevent Water Discontinuation

If you are behind on your utility account, we strongly encourage customers to arrange for a payment agreement, or to apply for an extension to make a payment on your delinquent charges. You can contact Finance and ask for a payment agreement option.

At that time, a down payment will be required and the rest of the past due balance will be spread out in monthly installments. Billed monthly and due by the 28th of the month are the City services statements. If the due date falls on a weekend or holiday, it will be due the next business day.

Payments received after the due date are assessed a 10% penalty. You can submit payment by mail, online by visiting www.cityofdavis.org, or visit city hall to make a payment. If you have any questions, please contact our office by calling (530) 757-5651, dial option 1 or emailing financeweb@cityofdavis.org.
