Cultural Resources Inventory

The City's Cultural Resources Inventory consists of the various city-wide and neighborhood-wide survey efforts that were undertaken by the city as well as site-specific surveys initiated by individual property owners or developers. The first city-initiated historical survey of properties was conducted in 1980, with later efforts in 1996, 2003, 2007 (B Street Visioning), 2015 (city-wide), and 2019-2024 (Downtown Inventory), which evaluated unsurveyed properties and/or updated existing surveys.

The Cultural Resources Inventory includes properties surveyed using the State of California Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) survey forms. A property's inventory survey form documents and compiles the historical information for the site and is used as the basis for determining whether a property meets the eligibility criteria for historic designation.

The City's Cultural Resources Inventory will continue to be added to or updated as needed. The DPR surveys, Historical Resources Evaluations, and other related information are provided below or at the webpages linked below.  While every effort is made to provide accurate information, please note that the survey forms and information provided below is not exhaustive or inclusive of every survey conducted since 1980.
