BUILDING DIVISION COVID-19 INFORMATION
Effective March 18, 2020 through April 7, 2020, unless extended by the Public Health Officer, City Hall and other City offices and related programs will be closed to the public in response to the shelter in place directive from Yolo County Health Officer recommended precautions related to COVID-19 (coronavirus). To the extent possible, essential services will continue to be provided.
COVID-19 PERMIT GUIDELINES
The Community Development public counter will remain closed until further notice. The following are guidelines that the City of Davis is following to reduce COVID-19 exposure and to comply with the shelter in place order.
Any type of project may submit for plan review electronically. When the plans are submitted electronically the Building Division will either send the project out for plan review or do the plan review in house. The purpose of closing the counter is to reduce contact with the public as much as possible. Paper plans will not be accepted at this time.
Beginning May 4, 2020 the Building Division will process and issue all types of permits.
The Building Division is asking owners/contractors to postpone inspections that are not necessary to keep a project active (e.g. minor projects such as water heater or HVAC replacement). If an inspection is required to keep a project active then we will follow the normal inspection request process. In compliance with the shelter in place directive, city inspection staff will not enter households. The inspector will contact the owner/contractor and request photographs of the installation to be texted in order to perform the inspection. Larger projects that do not require inspectors to enter a household will be conducted as usual while following safety protocols such as social distancing, gloves and washing hands.
If there are any questions please contact Greg Mahoney, Assistant Director of Community Development and Sustainability at 530 757-5655 or email@example.com
