A property in the 700 block of G Street is slated to become housing called Sweetbriar Townhomes and is moving through the City's building process.

• Sage Builders, LLC will begin site work at 724 and 730 G Street (between Sweetbriar Rd. and 8th St.) the week of August 3 with demolition of existing buildings to happen the following week. 
• Immediately following demolition, construction of the City-approved Sweetbriar Townhomes project will begin. 
• The entire project is anticipated to last between 12 and 14 months. 
• Construction will follow the City of Davis approved hours of operation from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday–Friday. Weekend work (Saturday–Sunday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.) will occur only as needed and is not expected every weekend.

G Street (directly in front of the property) and the portion of Sweetbriar Rd along the side of the site will be closed to pedestrian traffic intermittently while demolition and construction activities are active. 

Additional traffic and bike lane closures will be required intermittently.  Pedestrians will need to cross at the intersection of Sweetbriar Rd and G St or 8th and G Street, enabling a detour around the sidewalk during the closures.  Flaggers will be present for traffic and bike access during any lane closures.

Demolition and construction trucks will be staged and parked at the vacant lot on the corner of G St and Sweetbriar Rd to reduce traffic congestion.

Please expect construction noise and dust during the project as well as some “no parking” areas.
