Stormwater Detention Pond Work at Toad Hollow Dog Park

Post Date:July 17, 2026 11:09 a.m.

Soil testing in Core Area Pond near the Toad Hollow Dog Park on Second Street between July 20 and August 31

The City will conduct soil testing in the Core Area Stormwater Detention Pond to determine water infiltration rates. Understanding these rates will help the city identify opportunities to increase stormwater infiltration and water quality in the pond.

This will involve a mini excavator to dig several small and temporary test pits. Activities will generally take place during the day, Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

No testing will take place in the Toad Hollow Dog Park, which will remain open with normal operating hours. Visitors to the dog park may notice equipment and possibly increased noise during activities. Impact avoidance measures will be in place to prevent direct impacts to wildlife resources.
