The City of Davis Parks and Community Services Department invites high school youth to apply for Teen Leadership Council, developing key leadership and teambuilding skills through event planning and advocacy on issues important to their peers.
This year-long leadership program for high school students is a great addition to any college or internship application. The Teen Leadership Council meets the second and fourth Tuesday of each month from September through May, unless otherwise stated by City staff. The first meeting will be on Tuesday, Sept. 23, from 7 – 8:30 p.m. and each member will have the opportunity to lead a meeting.
Students will build essential life skills like communication, decision-making and conflict resolution and be empowered to make a tangible difference in their community while fostering personal growth and confidence. Students will gain practical experience in project management and civic engagement, allowing students to be better prepared to tackle challenges effectively and drive positive change.
