Davis Neighbors' Night Out Event Looking for Neighborhood Hosts

Post Date:August 25, 2025 11:25 am

The City of Davis, along with co-sponsors ASUCD, UC Davis and Yolo County, are encouraging all community members, neighborhood associations, apartment complexes and/or homeowners associations to be a “Party Host” in the 19th Annual Davis Neighbors’ Night Out on Sunday, Oct. 5, 2025.

Davis Neighbors’ Night Out is a long-standing Davis tradition that celebrates community and friendship by encouraging connections among neighbors. This gathering helps promote safer, more supportive environments for everyone. The Party Host will take the lead in setting up a neighborhood gathering. Typically, there are between 100-125 events each year, but there is no limit. Everyone is encouraged to consider hosting a gathering in their neighborhood.

“Davis Neighbors’ Night Out offers a great opportunity for new neighbors to connect and build community spirit within local neighborhoods,” said Davis Mayor Bapu Vaitla. “Party hosts play a key role in the success of this event by creating a welcoming and fun environment for community members and their families to gather and get to know one another better.”

If hosts sign up prior to Sept.19, they will be entered into a lottery for a special guest to attend their event, including City Councilmembers, Police and Fire Departments, UC Davis and City of Davis mascots and more.

To see if there is a gathering already scheduled in your neighborhood, visit: http://cityofdavis.org/neighbors and take a look at the party map. If not, please consider signing up.

To register as a Party Host, go to: http://cityofdavis.org/neighbors. The deadline to register is Friday, Sept. 26, 2025.  If the deadline has passed and someone is still interested in hosting, please reach out to dnno@cityofdavis.org for assistance.

Held annually in October, this event welcomes both new and returning UC Davis students into the community. Usually, approximately 125 neighborhood gatherings take place throughout Davis, featuring potlucks, games and opportunities for meaningful conversations.
