ABOUT THE SERIES

In January of 2024, the City of Davis started a new YouTube series titled "What Do You Do?" The purpose of these videos is to educate the community about the various roles in the City and how these jobs impact residents. In each 5-10 minute video, Jenny Tan, the Director of Community Engagement, interviews a different staff member who works at the City of Davis and asks them three to four very similar questions each time, like "what do you do," "what does a typical day look like" or "why do you work for the City."

These videos are meant to be casual and informal. Interviews are not in a studio, in chairs or formal in any way. You will see staff at their jobs, in the field and as they are. This series is purposefully simple and earnest. It is meant to be friendly, fun and easy to follow along while also building community understanding. For the City's "What Do You Do" webpage, click here. If you like the series, please like, share or subscribe!

EPISODES

Every few weeks, the City of Davis will release a new video of Jenny interviewing staff across departments and levels. We hope you see the determination, joy, care and investment from the staff at the City of Davis and that you learn something new in each episode.
