- Alcohol During Construction: During construction, alcohol and food will not be able to be served outside due to the work being done. If businesses are interested in continuing this service after the space has been reopened, please contact staff at: GStreetActivation@cityofdavis.org.
- Business Input: Businesses that would like to provide feedback regarding the use of space or its activation are welcome to connect with staff. There is ample time and opportunity to provide input before, during or after the construction of the platforms. Contact staff at: GStreetActivation@cityofdavis.org.
- Frequently Asked Questions: This is a new section the City added to the G Street webpage based on feedback from the community. The questions listed are from the August 7, 2024 meeting as well as other questions received by staff. Note that not all questions may have answers as staff may be waiting on information, state direction or internal processes to be completed. However, the City is aware of the concern around these questions and staff will work to get them answered.

August 7, 2024 Construction Meeting: The City hosted a zoom meeting for businesses in downtown Davis and on G Street regarding the construction of the platforms, their design and the space’s treatments. Staff also helped answer the technical questions that participants had.
- Business Survey: A survey to businesses fronting G Street is currently being worked on and will be available soon.
- September 4, 2024 Use and Activation Meeting: A zoom meeting date has been selected (thank you to everyone who took the poll) for September 4, 2024 from 4-5 pm. This meeting will go over updates and information related to business use of the space and furnishing guidelines. Details for the zoom meeting will be shared with businesses in downtown Davis and fronting G Street. Businesses can continue to provide their input on the use and activation of this community space before, during or after this meeting by contacting staff. This process regarding use and activation will take time and will continue past the construction's completion.

Other Important News
- Platform Construction: A contractor will be selected in mid-August for a start date in late August. Businesses with outdoor furniture on G Street were notified by certified mail and email in late July to remove items before the start of the construction. During construction, there may be noise, dust and debris. Contractors will work as quickly and efficiently as possible to complete the work on time and minimize impacts to businesses as much as possible. To help support businesses along this corridor, the City will post A-frames and/or signs along 2nd and 3rd Streets so that visitors to downtown Davis are informed that businesses are still open in the construction zone. The City may also use social media and other marketing tools to inform the community. Additionally, the sidewalks on both sides of G Street from 2nd to 3rd Streets will be open and accessible for visitors.
