Low-income Refund Program for Park Maintenance Tax and Open Space Protection Deadline Is August 12
Post Date:July 12, 2024 10:36 amQualified low-income homeowners can receive a full refund of their Davis Park Maintenance Tax and Open Space Protection Tax for 2023-2024 by returning a completed city application form by August 12, 2024.
To be eligible, applicants must be owner-occupants of property in Davis and meet the low-income requirements for the gross or total combined household income. Maximum income limits for both taxes are based on 50% of median income for your household size. For example, the total, or gross, combined household income for one person cannot exceed $40,400, whereas for a family of two it cannot exceed $46,150. The limit for a family of four $57,650, and the limit for a family of eight is $76,100. Only one application is required for both refund programs. To find the income limits, view the California Department of Housing and Community Development’s Income, Rent and Loan Limits here. This is an annual refund program (not an exemption from the tax), that will appear on a homeowner’s property tax bill.
