Fifth Annual Bicycle Scavenger Hunt Set for June 1
Post Date:May 24, 2024 11:00 amThe City of Davis and the UC Davis Department of Design invites everyone to attend the Fifth Annual Bicycle Scavenger Hunt on Saturday, June 1, from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. starting at Davis Commons, located at 500 First Street. This event is open to the public and free to attend. Scooters and bicycles are welcome.
This year’s theme is “The Great Botanic Panic” where participants will solve clues that will lead you on a fun-filled bike ride to learn about Davis, its blooming plant life and the connections to the Mesozoic Era.
After the scavenger hunt is completed, prizes will be given at Davis Commons based on several categories, such as:
• Human-powered bikes
• Electric bikes and scooters
• Families
• People who identify as bike racers
Started in 2017, the City of Davis Bicycle and Pedestrian Program and students from the UC Davis Department of Design have previously hosted four bicycle scavenger hunts. Each year, the City and the students develop a theme and create a fun, educational bicycle scavenger hunt to learn more about Davis. Past themes include a “Cycle-delic” (2017), “Farm to Fork” (2018), “Branching Out” (2019) and “Pedal Playoffs” (2023).
A huge thank you to the following businesses for providing prizes for this event: Trader Joe’s, Black Bear Diner, Redwood Barn Nursery, Avid Reader, Yolo Berry, Mishka’s Cafe, Strelitzia Flower Company, Himalaya Gift Shop and many more!
