Camp Putah Cancellation Update
To Our Camp Putah Families:
It is with tremendous regret and sadness that we inform you that the remaining sessions of Camp Putah (July 13 – August 21) have been canceled. The City and UC Davis have been working in partnership to offer the Camp Putah program in way that would keep our children and counselors safe and healthy. Unfortunately, despite our efforts, UC Davis, understandably, is not able to host groups on campus yet, making the camp location inaccessible for the program. We know the Camp Putah youth program has a long history in Davis and is a memorable event for many children in our community. It has been a highlight of their summer experience, and ours, that has been enjoyed and treasured year after year.
This was a very difficult decision, but given the current state of re-openings and the increase in Yolo County confirmed cases, UC Davis could not support providing the facility for the program.
We know that this is yet another activity canceled by the COVID-19 pandemic. As always, the UC Davis and City of Davis look for partnership opportunities and we look forward to continuing those partnerships next year for the 50th Anniversary of Camp Putah!
For those families currently enrolled in summer sessions of Camp Putah, full refunds will be processed beginning this week. Please allow 2-3 weeks for processing and to receive your refund. At this time, the City is not granting any priority enrollments for next summer, as the 2021 registration process is still yet to be explored and discussed in the fall/winter.
