Deadline for Low-Income Tax Refund Is June 30

Post Date:June 02, 2020 3:30 pm
Qualified low-income homeowners can receive a full refund of their Davis Park Maintenance Tax and Open Space Protection Tax for 2019-2020 by returning a completed city application form by June 30, 2020.

This is an annual refund program, not an exemption from the tax, which appears on your property tax bill. To be eligible, applicants must be owner-occupants of property in Davis and meet the low-income requirements for the gross or total combined household income. Maximum income limits for both taxes are based on 50% of median income for your household size. For example, the total or gross combined household income for one cannot exceed $32,375, for a family of two it cannot exceed $37,000. The limit for a family of four is $46,250, and the limit for a family of eight is $61,050.
Only one application is required for both refund programs.

If you think you might qualify, visit cityofdavis.org to print an application or contact the Finance Department at financeweb@cityofdavis.org or 530-757-5651 to request an application. As soon as City Hall opens to the public, applications will be available for pick-up at one of the following locations in Davis:
• Senior Citizens Center front lobby, 646 A Street
• City Hall, 23 Russell Boulevard, at the finance, city manager’s office and community development public counters
• Police Department, 2600 5th Street
