Community Open House: Potential Modifications to Yard Material Collection Service

On January 7, 2019, the City will hold a community open house to discuss potential changes to yard material collection service. Residents and businesses are invited to attend and provide feedback on the proposed collection options being considered by the City Council.
Join us on January 7 from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM in the Game Room at the Veterans Memorial Center, 203 E. 14th Street.
This will be a drop-in event--no formal presentation will be given. Staff will be on hand to discuss the proposed collection schedules and to answer questions. Attendees can provide feedback on the proposed collection schedules, as well as the collection program as a whole.
On October 30, the Davis City Council directed staff to research specific yard material collection schedules in an effort to identify cost containment measures for the service, and to review potential ways to provide more efficient delivery of services. At a follow-up meeting on December 4, staff presented the alternative yard material collection schedules. City Council selected three options to be discussed at a public meeting and with City Commissions.

For comparison, the current collection schedule (monthly pick-ups from January to mid-October, then weekly pick-ups from mid-October to mid-December) will also be provided at the open house.

If you are not able to attend the open house, you can submit comments and feedback to be included in the summary provided to City Council to by January 21, 2019.

All feedback received will be presented to City Council at their meeting on February 5, 2019.
