The Davis Police Department is aware of the special safety needs of its senior citizens and is committed to providing information designed to lessen the chances of becoming victimized by crime. We also offer programs that will help seniors live a more independent life. Included in these programs in the Davis Photo Id program for our citizens with dementia and the telephone reassurance program "Are You Okay?"
Being the spouse, child or caregiver of someone afflicted with Alzheimer Disease or other dementia is a role charged with problems. There is the constant worry of the individual eluding supervision or simply wandering and becoming lost within a short period of time. Many patients end up miles from home, often after becoming confused and unable to find their way back. The Davis Photo I.D. Program can be used to help facilitate a safe return. Davis Photo I.D.
