All Support Groups meet at the Davis Senior Center,

Alzheimer's Support Group
third Wednesday of the month, 10:00 a.m.
Open to caregivers of anyone suffering from dementia. The group meets to discuss immediate concerns and coping strategies; educate family members of newly diagnosed persons; provide emotional support for the caregiver; and provide a networking opportunity for local resources on Alzheimer's.
Breathers Support Group
fourth Thursday of the month, 1:30 - 3:00 p.m.
If you have asthma, emphysema, bronchitis, or, are a chronic sufferer of colds, allergies and sinus problems, you are most welcome to attend monthly meetings. Besides the sharing of useful information, members can benefit from the frequent guest speakers who address topics of concern to those dealing with COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease). Diabetes Education & Support Group
third Wednesday of alternating months, 3:15 p.m.
Diabetes educator, Wendy Gregor leads this group. A variety of health care professionals address the group and answer questions. Topics include nutrition and diet, new medications, foot care, etc. People with diabetes, their friends and family members are all welcome. Parkinsons' Support Group
fourth Tuesday of the month, 1:30 p.m.
Open to anyone who has or cares for an individual with this progressive neurological disease which most commonly strikes people over the age of 50. The group meets to discuss immediate concerns and coping strategies; educate and inform newly diagnosed persons and family members; discuss and learn about current and future research in Parkinson's Disease treatment; network with other Parkinson's groups in the Sacramento Valley and Bay area.
Vision Support Group
second Wednesday of month, 10:30 a.m.
Open to anyone who has, or cares for an individual who has vision loss. The group meets to discuss immediate concerns and coping strategies; educate and inform newly diagnosed persons and family members; discuss and learn about current and future research in vision related treatments.
