Senior Office Assistant - Jan Butler
Jan has worked for the City of Davis for nearly 25 years in a variety of capacities including Child Care Services, Parks & Community Services registration counter, Mediation, Grants, and the Davis Senior Center. The past several years, Jan divided her time between the downtown Hunt Boyer Building during the morning hours, and the afternoon hours with us here at the Davis Senior Center. In July 2005, Jan moved to the Senior Center full time, and has enjoyed working in the same office for the full work day.
Her position is the "hub" of our center’s operations. She is the person who assists in the coordination of facility scheduling, class registration, responding to telephone inquiries and special service appointments, maintaining participant attendance & membership records, providing clerical support to staff and support groups, as well as a host of other responsibilities. One of the most significant responsibilities for Jan is the production and mailing of the Senior Scene newsletter which is distributed to over 1,200 households.
Jan has lived in Davis for over 30 years, and is looking forward to many more. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, bicycling, water exercise, walking, gardening and taking vacations.
