Davis Community Meals

Serves a free meal to needy individuals on Tuesday nights from 5:45 pm-6:30 pm and on Saturdays from 11:30 am-12:15 pm. Meals are served at St. Martin Episcopal Church. Program is aimed at aiding homeless and low-income individuals and families. Davis Community Meals also has a local shelter in town that temporarily houses men and women.

Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Center

Provides crisis services (shelter), counseling services, educational services, and legal services to victims of sexual assault and domestic violence. The Center also has a 24-hour crisis line that serves the community.

Salvation Army (local branches in Sacramento and Fairfield)

Adult rehabilitation services comprise the largest resident program offered by the Salvation Army. Individuals with identifiable and treatable needs go to these centers for help when they are no longer able to cope with their problems. There they receive adequate housing, nourishing meals, and necessary medical care, and they engage in work therapy. Services that are also provided include group therapy, spiritual guidance, and skilled counseling in clean and wholesome surroundings. Residents may be referred or be remanded by the courts. Free temporary shelter is available to homeless men and women in severe financial need. Low-cost housing also is available to men and women living on pensions or social security. Salvation Army
