Other Affordable Housing Opportunities
Davis Area Cooperative Housing Association (DACHA)
DACHA is a Limited-Equity Cooperative. This means that the units are owned by a nonprofit corporation, in this case DACHA. A member does not own his/her individual unit. Rather, resident-owners own the cooperative as an undivided whole, and have the exclusive right to occupy a specific unit within the cooperative. People interested in living in these units buy a share into the cooperative, making them a member of DACHA. Once a household is a member of DACHA, the household lives in one of DACHA’s units and makes monthly payments toward the costs of the unit and the cooperative. The equity gained through this program is comprised of the interest accrued on the original share purchase made into the cooperative. DACHA’s units are typically 2 or 3 bedroom units and are located throughout Davis. If you are interested in DACHA’s program, please contact Gail Madsen with Madsen and Walton Properties at (916) 447-0886, ext. 13.
