Civic Arts
Art In Public Places Program
Since 1973, the City has set aside 1% of all funds allocated for Capital Improvement Projects to purchase art that enhances the quality of the Davis environment. The artists selected through this program represent a diversity of style and media. Sculpture, murals, paintings, tile work, and functional pieces are located around the city for your enjoyment.
New Public Art Completed!
The Neighborhood Art Projects were developed to bring public art to places where people live and play. Four projects have been completed, Troy Corliss' "Aluvium" at Walnut Park in South Davis, Richard Lowenberg's "Crash-Landed Flying Saucer" at Arroyo Park in West Davis, Jean Van Keuren's "Three Frolicking Dogs" in the North Davis Greenbelt, and Sam Tubiolo's environmental installation in Mace Ranch Park.
The Civic Arts Commission is identifiying priorities for funding new projects.
