City of Davis Independent Police Ombudsman
The City Council created the position of Police Ombudsman, a part-time contract position, in 2006. The city of Davis contracts with Bob Aaronson to provide police ombudsman services. The Davis Police Ombudsman is an independent entity hired to assist with concerns about the police department and to make recommendations to improve the delivery of police services. In the course of his duties, he may review Police Department citizen complaint investigations, take citizen complaints about the Police Department from people who do not feel comfortable going directly to the Department, and interact with community members and organizations.
